Lately i’ve been re-kindling the love with platform games in the form of Private Joe – Urban Warfare. A 2D platformer ported over in to Facebook game with some really nice additions. It has Facebook integrated into the game in the form of sharing your achievements as well as comparing scores. You can ask friends for ammo to help you beat the bosses and earn badges for your troubles.
I think Facebook games developers should be creating more 2D platformers because there’s no love lost for this genre. Private Joe is a perfect example of a simple and extremely fun Facebook game which holds it’s roots in retro gaming.
Running around donning all sorts of oversized guns, Private Joe is a joy to play.
